|Portrayed by:||Reba McEntire|
Reba Mackenzie was married to Bobby Gallagher and they have two children, Cash (16) and June (14). Bobby cheated on her (it's assumed more than once) and though she promised to stand by him no matter what she couldn't do it since he had broken her trust. She moved to a beach house in Malibu, that she never knew Bobby owned, with her mother and the two children. Reba was once a singer (In Based On A True Story we learn she has at least 2 albums) but she ended her career to have her family, now that she is without Bobby she wants to start it up again but it is harder than she imagined since she isn't as young as she once was. In the pilot episode a young man named Geoffrey tells Reba that since she isn't young or sexy that her only to make it in show business is to have a really good hook, so she writes an inspiring song about how she can go on even though she's been wronged. The man at the label says that he loves the song but he would rather some else sing it (Travie McCoy). Reba Mackenzie fights to keep her song and her career and she continues fighting for what she knows in her heart that she deserves. Reba is a lovable character who is easy to relate with as a mother trying to support her family and provide a memorable childhood. She can be very strongheaded which puts her in awkward positions that she struggles to escape.
